The Institute for Advanced Chemistry of Catalonia (IQAC-CSIC) celebrates the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, dated on February 11th by the United Nations, to promote full and equal access to participation in science for women and girls and to recognize their role in science and technology.
The researcher Laia Josa, from the Medical Chemistry & Synthesis (MCS) group will give a talk to 6th grade students from the school Baix Ebre, in Tortosa, where she will break stereotypes by talking about a scientist woman’s life, both personal and professional, and her research line.
Moreover, the researcher Susana Vílchez, from the Surface Chemistry group, will give a talk on 17th February in the secondary school La Sagrera Sant Andreu to explain her professional experience and why she decided to become a scientist. These activities are organized by #100tífiques, an iniciative of Fundació Catalana per a la Recerca i la Innovació (FCRI) and Barceloan Intitute of Science and Technology (BIST)
