Comprender y controlar los fenómenos coloidales utilizando estrategias químicas singulares para el diseño y desarrollo de aplicaciones tecnológicas.
VISIÓN
Consolidar la innovación en química coloidal para resolver desafíos tecnológicos y sociales específicos
Nuestro grupo se centra en el autoensamblaje molecular de la materia blanda como vehículo para la fabricación «bottom-up» de nanomateriales, con uso mínimo de energía. Estamos interesados en sistemas nanoestructurados tales como tensioactivos, polímeros, micelas, geles, cristales líquidos, espumas, microemulsiones y nanoemulsiones, que pueden tener aplicaciones directas o usarse como plantillas, directores de estructura o nanoreactores para la síntesis de nanopartículas, nanocompuestos o sólidos nanoporosos. A través de técnicas de última generación intentamos comprender mecanismos fundamentales de agregación, fuerzas coloidales e interacciones interfaciales y su impacto en el tamaño del material, la estructura, la estabilidad y otras propiedades. Utilizamos información molecular y parámetros fisicoquímicos para predecir, controlar y programar la autoorganización jerárquica a múltiples escalas y con creciente complejidad, para materiales con propiedades y aplicaciones novedosas o mejoradas.

Nuestra investigación se centra en las siguientes líneas:
- Desarrollo de formulaciones hechas a medida para aplicaciones novedosas basadas en el autoensamblaje de moléculas de tentioactivos, polímeros y otros sistemas coloidales
- Sistemas autoensamblados y dispersiones coloidales como plantillas o agentes directores de estructura en la preparación de materiales funcionales avanzados.
- Design and synthesis of molecular delivery systems towards applications in therapy.
